The Euro 7 regulation redefines environmental standards in the automotive industry. Beyond traditional exhaust emissions, it includes brake wear particles (PM10) generated during driving. Electric vehicles (EVs) are no exception, and with increasing vehicle weight, brake dust control is becoming even more critical.

02 — Solution

Hard Metal Cladding — The Answer Exists, But Grinding Is the Challenge

Laser cladding technology, which fuses ultra-hard alloys such as tungsten carbide onto cast iron disc surfaces, significantly reduces brake dust and is gaining attention as a key solution for Euro 7 compliance. However, precision machining after coating remains a major challenge. Due to the high surface hardness of the coating layer, machining difficulty increases significantly compared to conventional cast iron, making it difficult to achieve micrometer-level flatness and parallelism with traditional grinding methods alone.
